PGL Major Stockholm 2021 – Multichannel campaign

Objectives

To respond to the esports fans expectations, Fantasyexpo agency has acquired exclusive broadcasting rights for the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 in eight countries: Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Romania. Our goal was to promote the tournament and local broadcasts partners among CS:GO fans in each market.

Solution

We created tailored Facebook and TikTok Ads campaigns in 8 countries in order to reach CS:GO fans and promote dedicated offers of broadcast’s partners such as KFC, Logitech G, Reebok, Samsung, Pringles & Blik. We also supported the organic content created by influencers and media to make sure that target group have heard about PGL Major 2021 Tournament and local broadcasts partners.

Results

PGL Major Stockholm 2021 became the most watched CS:GO tournament in history. The decisive clash between Natus Vincere and G2 Esports reached 2,748,850 viewers worldwide at its peak, beating the previous best set during ELEAGUE Major 2017 (1,331,781 viewers) twice. The tournament took the CS:GO category to #5 on Twitch and ranks #7 in the Top 10 most popular esports events ever, according to escharts.com. Performance marketing campaign generated more than 18 mln views, 24k+ clicks and received high engagment within target group with 46k+ reactions on TikTok and Facebook Ads.
